1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using gitstrat ("we", "us", or "our") at gitstrat.com or any associated websites or applications (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
gitstrat is a web-based tool that helps engineering teams analyze how their pull requests align with strategic business goals. The Service connects to your GitHub or Bitbucket accounts via secure OAuth, analyzes pull request metadata (titles, descriptions, and changed file paths), and maps them against goals you define.
Important Note: We do not read, store, or analyze the actual source code content of your files; only metadata and file paths.
3. User Accounts and Authentication
- You must authenticate using Bitbucket or GitHub OAuth to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and any associated OAuth tokens.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information during authentication.
- You may revoke our access to your repositories at any time through your Bitbucket or GitHub settings.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Upload or transmit any viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Use the Service to monitor or track individuals without proper authorization
- Share your account credentials with others
5. Repository Access and Permissions
By connecting a repository, you grant gitstrat permission to:
- Read repository metadata and pull request information
- Access pull request titles, descriptions, and lists of changed files
- Store this data temporarily to provide alignment analysis and dashboards
You retain full ownership of your code and repository data. We only use it to provide the Service to you.
6. Intellectual Property
- The Service, including its design, code, logos, and underlying technology, is owned by gitstrat.
- You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service during the term of your use.
- Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide may be used by us to improve the Service without compensation to you.
7. Pricing and Payments
- We currently offer a Free plan and a Pro plan.
- Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected.
- You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings.
- All payments are processed securely through our payment provider.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@gitstrat.com.
- Deleting your account will remove your goals and alignment history.
9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
We do not guarantee that:
- The alignment scores or insights will be perfectly accurate
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- The analysis will meet all your strategic needs
To the maximum extent permitted by law, gitstrat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
The company is registered in Finland. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
